Can you trust God through the season of adversity? Pain has its purpose, don’t waste your pain. Don’t let the devil take the credit for your process. It is not every affliction that a child of God goes through that is orchestrated by the enemy.
God will take you some time through the University of the Spirit. He will teach you some things through hardness. Please understand that hardness is different from hardship.
“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ”
(2 Timothy 2:3)
Hardship is the affliction which comes from the enemy while hardness is God’s process of preparing us for the assignment.
A generation that only discerns God’s presence in prosperity does not know God. God is bigger than prosperity. God is bigger than affluence. God is bigger than comfort. God is God on the mountain. And He is still God in the valley. He is God in the good times and He is still God in the bad days. He is God in the shadows, and He is still God in the sunshine. David exclaimed in ,
Psalm 23:4, “Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me”
You don’t stay perpetually in the valley but sometimes you walk through the valley. Sometimes the money may run low. Sometimes people might start to act up around you and display negative attitudes. It might even seem like all hell let loose around you. But it may not necessarily be the act of the devil, it may be God who is setting you up to depend upon him. Sometimes until the natural support system gets pulled away, you may not learn what it is to walk by faith. You will not know what it means to trust God and make Him your refuge until the things you depended on within your ability and security seem elusive.
When people are talking about living by faith, trusting God to open doors and make ways in seemingly impossible situations, it would sound strange until you have been to that place of need and dependence on God.. How can you believe God for nations? If you cannot believe God to scale you through moments of adversity? How can you believe God to take you around the world? If you cannot believe God to pay your bills?
So God uses adversity to train you and prepare you for what He has prepared for you. What seemed like rejection was Joseph’s preparation for the place of elevation. Joseph told his brethren in Genesis chapter 50:20,
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.”
I sense that a new season of revelation is being released on God’s people, turning every adversity into an advantage. Everything you have had to suffer has been used by the Father to build up your spirit. And now it will produce in you a far greater weight of glory. The Spirit of the Lord says, “this season of your life is now a takeover season”. This is your takeover season, We are the takeover generation. We are ready to do God’s will.
The Lord wants you to attempt big things; impossible and risky things. Many believers are stuck in one level because they are waiting for everything to come together before they move. That’s not how God works. When God tells you to go out, He says take nothing. All you need is His abiding Presence and everything will start falling together as you go. This is how kingdom giants are built. Jesus told His disciples,
“Take nothing for your journey,” he instructed them. “Don’t take a walking stick, a traveller’s bag, food, money, or even a change of clothes”.
Luke 9:3
The Lord always push you ahead of your natural capacity by Faith. He will tell you to step into a $10,000 zone when your capacity is only on $2,000. Faith will scale you through a $1 million home when you don’t have the natural know how. That’s just the way the Father is, that’s how He works. He will build the capacity of your Spirit for your next level. When you spirit man is built and your faith developed, then you are ready. Yes, you are ready to move mountains; even when the natural seem not to align.
If you’re walking with God, natural minded people will call you crazy. If you’re walking with God, carnal people will always question the sanity of the things you are doing. You’ll hear words like, “Come on, you lost your mind. Are you serious? God’s gonna tell you to go do that? God can be very hilarious sometimes, especially when He is unraveling things. He will keep His purpose from everyone until He is ready to solve the puzzle of your life. Can you trust Him through the process? Anyone can try to support their life but when it comes to fulfilling your God-destiny, God will have to send the checks. Your savings will not be sufficient to fulfill God’s will. You’ll have to trust Him through the journey. Do you feel as though you are right on the edge and you are going to topple over? Are you wondering how you are going to make it? Don’t worry, you are in good company. God told Moses to tell the Israelites to keep moving forward. They had an Egyptian army marching behind them and the Red Sea in front of them. But God said, keep moving forward. Awesome God of miracles. Won’t He do it, wont He carry you through. You bet, He will.
Paul the Apostle said,
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed”. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
God has a last minute miracle for every pressure you face. You think you’re gonna fall apart but wait, when God comes through for you, the Red Sea will part, Jericho walls will fall, giants will come down and he will use the process to intensify your faith. Go for big things in this season. Don’t settle for the average. We are a God-breed. We will not attend small, convenient things. We will not do what everybody wants us to do. We will do big things.
When you get to the place of surrender to God, you will release His anointing for possibilities. I have realized that in everything we do in God’s kingdom, the excellency of the power must always be of God. When you think you can do it in your natural strength, you’ll soon realize how weak you really are without God. Everything we do with God, we do by grace. We are saved by grace, we move by grace. So when you are puffed up, grace is not given.
The Bible says,
“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
James 4:6
Surrender to God’s grace and acknowledge that what is happening in your life is not by your might, education, will, but it’s by the grace of God. When you acknowledge God, your anointing increases. Those who humble themselves under the mighty hand of God, God are lifted up. The new season that God is taking you into is not a season where your shoulders will go high or when you will be dealing in offence, bitterness or feeling all entitled. Walk in humility and watch God take you from glory to glory in Jesus Christ Name.
